    A different take on Change and George Bush

    George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine.

    A little over one year ago:
    1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
    2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
    3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.
    4) the DOW JONES hit a record high--14,000
    5) Americans were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations overseas, living large!...

    But Americans wanted 'CHANGE'! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress & yep--we got 'CHANGE' all right!.....

    1) Consumer confidence has plummeted ;
    2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing!;
    3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
    4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS & prices still dropping;
    5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
    6) as I write, THE DOW is probing another low~~11,300--$2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS!

    YEP , IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE!...AND WE SURE GOT IT!!!....

    NOW the DEM'S CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT--AND THEIR POLLS SAY HE'S GONNA BE 'THE MAN'--CLAIMS HE'S GONNA REALLY GIVE US CHANGE!!....JUST HOW MUCH MORE 'CHANGE' DO YA THINK YOU CAN STAND???.....

    History repeats itself. Everybody hated Nixon for what he did, and Ford was tainted by his pardon of Nixon. People voted for "change" in the form of a strongly Democratic Congress, the GOP lost almost 50 seats in the House in 1973, and dropped 6 seats in the Senate over the next two elections. The Economy crashed and burned, and by the time Carter was elected in 1976, the damage was beyond repair. He was, in a way, a victim of Democrat "success." It wasn't until Reagan was elected with in and the GOP took the Senate in 1981, and Reagan brought a man named Milton Friedman to the White House as economic advisor did the economy finally recover from the Keynesian economics experiment of JFK and LBJ. Now BOH wants to try full out Marxism.

    I hope my kids still have a country when the Democrats get done, I really didn't want them to grow up in the gulag of the United Socialist States of America. (USSA)

      Seriously, it might not be a bad idea to start thinking of relocating to another country. I'm seriously considering it as I think either Obama or McCain will be a disaster for the US. The People's Republic of China is on the top of a short list of countries I'm thinking of. Irrespective of the name, they probably know more about capitalism than the most leaders in the US. China is building thousands of miles of high-speed rail in the next decade. The US probably zero. They don't have the red tape we do if they want to build a new nuke plant. I'm 100% confident they'll clean up the present environmental disaster there just to keep long term health care costs in line. They'll be leading the US in both manufacturing and importing new energy technology, and they'll have a first class tansportation grid not relying solely on fossil fuels. And they don't have the legal nonsense we do when dealing with criminals. I love how they execute murderers and rapists a few weeks after the trial, for example. If not China, one of the so-called Little Dragons might be an option as well. Like I said, it's a pretty short list. Europe is out due to socialism plus the rapid takeover by Muslims. Most of South America and Africa are cesspools (and way too hot for my tastes anyway). As strange as it sounds, the PRC may end up being the last bastion of freedom in the 21st century.

        Top of the really short list? Ireland.

          Israel here. First, they got God's protection. Second, might as well go out in a fight than putting up with it all!
