Cutting back in preparation of whats coming.

Like the rapidly vanishing post on this form, people in Michigan are now cutting back.

Gasoline prices have rapidly fallen as people cut back in their driving. Local repair shops are very busy as people hang on to their older cars. Brand new full size domestic pickup trucks can be had for under $10,000 as sales fall flat for new cars and trucks. The housing market is flooded with unsold homes as people move into smaller houses and kids move back in with their parents.

Major industries, what are left of them, lead the list with Marathon delaying a planned $1.9 billion badly needed refinery expansion. GM and Chrysler, in order to reduce cost, plan to merge and eliminate 25,000 more jobs in Michigan alone.

Locally, Value City will be closing its doors. Art Van has its Bay City store up for sale. Bed Bath and Beyond, is closing soon. The Texan restaurant closed its Bay Road store. Gracies closed its M 13 location. Art Lewis Tours is closing due to high fuel cost, loss of business, and projected increase in taxes. Numerous other local small business are considering closing up in anticipations of being accused of being selfish when it comes to the projected increase in taxes.

Personally, I have everything paid up. I have moved my retirement out of the 401k so I don't lose it to the Government. I will be officially out of the furniture repair business by January. The Saginaw News will be canceled in order to save the $160 yearly subscription for anticipated taxes once their endorsement takes control. With access to cable going up in cost which provides phone TV and Internet access, that may end up being cut as well. That will save some $160 a month alone.

It won't eliminate my internet access completely. I will still have some kind of access available. But, not only will it make the mods sprotecting of "The Second Coming" happy in not having to censor my post, it will make it difficult for anyone to request custom objects or for me to upload any future static objects to this forum library.

What happens three days from now will be that determining factor.

Maybe in the People's Republic of Canaduh...

P.S. Oops I am sorry (not) I have insulted the not only the Communists but the Canadian liberal Mods on here......
I am so disgusted at the obvious to anyone with more than a room temperature IQ bias of the mods on here.....

I think I'll start allerting the Mods posts...

After all Kenny and Paul and the others (MikeNE and Ms Katz) alert everything we conservatives post (and brag about it offline) and the (you should only laugh) Moderators then kill everything other than "Hail to the Chosen One" and "Socialism is the great shining future":....

Has anyone wondered how we went through 2 presidential elections and multiple congressional cycles without violence and ONLY for this election do we apply the alledged fairness doctrine??????? Only after a concerted attack by the aforementioned communists and the ascension or decension (as you wish) of one of their own to "unbiased" moderator... And after the Kommissars were losing most of their arguments on content but not vitriol??????

Anyone want to bet how long it takes until this expression of my right of free speach is suppressed???? (Yes I know it's Nels' house but I did not engage in direct personal attack and can at least produce some proof of my assertions on here.....)

Ah, yes, the cranky old man brigade.

I'm secretly hoping Obama doesn't win. The whining will be unbearable. Way to make mountains out of molehills. Hell, you people have scared off at least one brilliant locomotive builder thanks to your grumpyness and unyielding views.

If you want to leave the country if Obama wins, please do. for that matter, if McCain wins, and you want to leave, do it. And quit complaining about the locking like 12-year-old YouTube users. It's more to do with your attitude than your views. Be Rush Limbaugh on a blog, not here, where the conversations are supposed to be civil, and personal attacks on someone due to their views should be kept to a minimum.

Don't you dare call me some left-wing tree-hugger, either: it's well documented that I loathe the left's reactionary tendencies and need for everything to be right now. Particularly when it comes to laws regarding cars. It seems everything they do is simply too much, too fast, as if it has to be done immediately.

But the Right? Too disorganized, no real plan, bunch of people more concerned about their jobs than anyone else. Too many loose cannons, not enough control.

So I guess there's no real choice. Everyone in Washington is too busy patting themselves on the back with one hand and covering their butts with the other. Special interests have some guys by the throat. It's terrible.

But for the people on this forum, who whine endlessly like six-year-olds when things don't go your way, tough it. Quit throwing tantrums: eventually, we'll have another Regan to shift things back Right, then it'll shift Left again, then Right. It's cyclical. Besides, we're still less liberal than Europe or Japan, and they aren't complaining much.
The Jeremy Clarkson of MSTS...sort of.

Really? What do you call asserting that a few select people are behind hitting the alert without proof? Thats not a personal swipe? lol

I suppose. The way some of them talk, though, they even act like we won't have that.

If only they'd debate like civil men instead of YouTubers. or politicians.

Why would we leave? Some of us on this side have shed blood for this country. What have the aforementioned communist useful idiots done except whine? Don't try to lay that krapola off on us! Just search for some of Kenny1234's posts and I can show you PMs that were direct personal attacks by Kommissar Kenny! Talk about spoiled kids! Sheesh

Again agreed... However I would stipulate that historically only totalitarian regimes like the Nazis and the Communists for instance have been able to exercise the level of control that I think you are talking about...

I agree again - however I would stipulate that in this case (the financial crisis) the primary corruptees are from the left. Think of Chris Dodd refusing to hold hearings on Freddy corruption while getting sweetheart deals from WAMU, Think of Barney Frank viciously attacking Fannie's regulator who was testifying about the corruption at Fannie 4 years ago while he, Frank, was reportedly (by the Washington post - not exactly a right wing rag) having a relationship with a male Fannie executive... If that had been a Republican he would have been crucified by the MSN (literally) - fwiw I will also stipulate to the corruption of some republicans - it's just in a different format - All politicians are corrupt - some are just more corrupt (to misquote Mark Twain)

Nope just sick and tired of the endless, mindless adoration for the chosen one. And being accused of racism, grumpiness, alien abduction, cattle mutilation, crop circles, Jimmy Hoffa's murder etc etc when we fail to kowtow!

P.S. I corrected your spelling of grumpiness - you're welcome!

It's not just you. It's you and him. I'm tired of BOTH sides getting personal with one another. Don't think for a MINUTE that I'm defending their side, either: both sides are being just as cutthroat with one another, and I've had it.

Not exactly what I meant...Perhaps Control isnt' the right term...Self-control would be more like it. They kind have trouble getting their ducks in a row.

That may be true at the moment...don't think, though, that I've forgotten for a moment about George Ryan. IN fact, I kind of worry that Obama may be in the same vein as Ryan and Blagojegojevitchescokcafhqwhgadskoeniggseggaviking .
