Ah, the Twins... for those unfamiliar, they were named as such because they were the last two unpatched CNW locomotives in the UP system.
The Omaha power desk managed to keep them more or less on home rails, and they avoided the paint shop for 22 years. In 2017, they finally got pulled from storage (at the IRM no less) and sent to North Little Rock for painting (finished in March 2018). They're now UP 9750 and UP 9805. They were leased locomotives, so they may or may not still be active on the roster. Since being repainted, I've lost interest in tracking them down...If you like what you see here at Trainsim.com, be it the discussions and knowledge in the forums, items saved in our library or the ongoing development of our TSRE Fork, I hope you'll consider a paid membership to help support keeping the site operating.... Both were in really ratty condition, so repainting really was needed by then. Had they been owned instead of leased, it's possible one would have been donated.

Former CNW employees who worked out of the UP Proviso shops worked diligently to hide the last two unpatched units in and around the Chicago region. While the units worked in and around Chicago working transfer service they spent a lot of time on assignments out of the West Chicago yard were I was able to capture them numerous times. I can post some pictures once I pull them off my old hard drive. The first time they were at IRM the volunteers touched up a few things like the pilots and spots on the nose area were they could spruce them up. Eventually like Eric stated they were called back to duty and I believe sent to Jenks were they got the Armour Yellow treatment.
