    Another ArmAIII user here.

Vanilla ArmA is not an issue for me. Current calibers and ballistics are represented and the delivery systems are believable which is enough for my casual gaming style. That being said I have seen some of the wealth of community mods available out there.

Playing with people I know is fun but I mostly play solo missions I have created in the editor.

      Hi Marek,

Hah - yeah - the ballistics seem pretty plausible from what I've seen. While I haven't tried it myself - setting up long distance sniper shots seem to be a great deal of work - to do it right.

ArmA has a very powerful scripting language that I've spent a great deal of time learning for use in the editor - it really opens doors to do all kinds of things.

Here's an example of scripting - it sets up an air assault with up to four helicopters - with any content - by simply using a single set of markers to define the entry and egress path - while minimizing the annoying popup flare that AI is known to do when landing at an LZ. It only takes about 15 minutes in the editor - without the scripts - it would take exponentially longer.

      Scott

No worries - I've been messing with it from the first versions in the early 2K's - it's a "sandbox" game - so it can be whatever you want. The learning curve is pretty high to get the most out of it. The best stuff is always made by 3rd party community members - which the company absolutely embraces.

My video card went tits up a while back - so I haven't been doing much of anything lately - running off my MOBO graphics - just got around to ordering a new card this week.

        Regards,
        Scott
Scott if it has a high learning curve, i am out buddy. Simple is as simple does 🤣 🤣.

          Hi Mike,

LOL - no worries - it's not for everyone - - - I only run three things for entertainment - Flight Sim - Train Sim - and - ArmA. It's been that way for 20 years which gives me time to dive into the weeds.
          😉

          Regards,
          Scott

Hiya Scott, i chop and change all the time. At the moment heavily into Sniper Elite 4, played 5 hrs non stop this morning. The two truck sims are always on the pc. No DTG rubbish anymore, had it all removed. I own all the IL2 Sturmovik Great Battles combat flightsim components. But rarely play as i am not much good at flying the aircraft.

EDIT: Wow just clicked on your blender models link buddy. They look really amazing, are they in any of the games ?

            regards,
            Mike.

              Hi Mike,

THANKS - my last uploaded content was the Mikado for ORTS - it's here in the lib - the rest are in various stages of completion - mostly outstanding texture work remains on the Mountain and RS1. Building the shape is the fun and easy part - I spend far more time on mapping and textures.

              Regards,
              Scott

                  Hi Mike,

Thank you - kindly - sir.

The stuff I'm working on now has a much higher poly count.

                  Regards,

You obviously know your modelling stuff Scott, must be nice to have the skills.

I don't have a clue to be honest.

                    Mike.

One thing I should note about Night Runners is, it's a thrilling yet terrifying street racing game, a sense of excitement and horror going through of my body when I'm doing a race in-game.

If I am not playing around with Open Rails stuff, I'm usually playing Fallout 4, or any of the Gears of War series. I've also been a pretty big fan of the Halo series, but I honestly haven't touched any of them in about two months.

Bumping up the thread, I thought of sharing some games I used to play and the current topic from me is... Adobe Flash and Utility 3D Browser games, I know not everyone likes them (aside from me who likes them), I grew up when Adobe Flash Player is still around in its later years prior to Adobe announcing its end of support and Flash halts in the end of 2020 along with browsers that begin stop supporting it, I know I used to play a bunch of flash games on an old desktop until it got stolen somewhere in the mid 2010s but the burglary that happened is behind me with the robbers got away with the stolen desktop.

A few years later, ever since Adobe has let go of Flash Player, people begin to find ways to preserve flash animations and games and one such group and application is Flash Point and I use it to play Flash games to this day but not too often but I use it to play games I used to play before or try out other games I never played earlier. Aside from Flash Point, Flash Player emulators starting showing up as well, there is a possibility that flash games can be still played on websites but it depends...?
