Setting my Forum Color Theme
This site offers several options that can be selected as a preferred theme.
To try these out, select an option from the lower left corner of your browser, and it will persist until you change it again.
Most of our custom themes are based on color palletes used by various railroads around the world.
A dark option "Boiler Black" is also available.

Selected Style: Blue Box
The Athearn "Blue Box" was the mainstay of HO model railroading for almost 50 years. These plastic kits required minimal assembly, and came pre-painted with popular railroad names. Price-wise, in the 1980's were still $10 or less for a freight car, and slightly more for a locomotive. They were discontinued in 2009 after a change in ownership.
