Microsoft has just announced that Gmax support is now available for Microsoft Train Simulator. Discreet's gmax is a 3D design platform used for many games and sims. Gmax itself is already available for download, and now an MSTS game pack plus sample locomotive are available.

Coming next from Dream In Vision is an Australian version of the Dash 8 locomotive, as used by BHP Iron Ore. Quite different looking from the U.S. version, individual units also show variations.

Trainz Service Pack 3 is now scheduled to be released July 1. It will include support for prototypical routes and interactive scenarios as well as updating art assets, sound, AI and physics.

Available shortly from Abacus is Scenic Railway, an add-on for Microsoft Train Simulator. Scenic Railway includes a new route leading from Capital City which includes a large yard, many industries plus rural areas. SD40 locomotives and suitable rolling stock are also included.
