Today Dovetail Games has announced the release of Train Simulator 2017 (TS2017), the latest iteration of their long running railway simulation franchise. While not appearing greatly different from last year's version it does include a different set of routes and there's also a "Pioneer's Edition" that offers the chance at an early look at their next sim.

New from BLW (Belanger Locomotive Work) for MSTS is the DRGW Freight Pack. The pack includes a variety of equipment, including 14 engines such at the GP7 and GP9, 47 freight cars including covered hoppers, box cars and flat and a caboose.

Dovetail Games has released information on the upcoming Train Simulator 2017, the annual update of their base product. More important, is new details on Train Sim World, which will replace Train Simulator and offer new levels of realism.

New from publisher Just Trains is UBahn Frankfurt for TS2016. This unique and outstanding route, developed by TrainByTrain, is over 65 km in length and includes lines U1-U9 of the U-Bahn Frankfurt. It includes 87 stations, detailed urban, underground and rural environments, 18 scenarios, authentic signalling and more.

The virtual New Haven Railroad Springfield Line for TS2016 brings to life the 1950s glory days of the famed New Haven Railroad. Extending from Springfield, Massachusetts to New Haven, Connecticut, this highly authentic route represents 62 miles of multiple-track, densely-packed mainline railroading bustling with a mix of New Haven passenger, through freight, local freight, and switching activity.

Trainsims are not limited to just PC's. Japanese Rail Sim 3D Monorail Trip to Okinawa has been released for the Nintendo 3DS by Sonic Powered. The sim is on the Yu Rail in the southernmost point in Japan. It includes day and night driving, with realistic train operations.

Set in the years between 2013 and 2015, Western Mainlines from Just Trains consists of three newly developed routes running from the terminus station of London Paddington to Bristol, from Bristol to Cardiff and from Bristol to Exeter, all connected seamlessly together in this one pack for TS2016.

New from Aerosoft for TS2016 is Berlin - Leipzig Route. This important German route comes with nine challenging career scenarios, 195 km of electrified twin track plus Berlin Brandenburg Airport branch and S-Bahn line, 46 detailed stations, several yards and much more.

New for TS2016 is OBB 4023 'Talent' EMU. Designed in the 1990's, the Talent is in the forefront of modern European transportation for both passengers and drivers alike. The package includes an authentic simulation of the Talent EMU, accurate cab, three challenging career scenarios and more.
