It takes a bit after you come up and sit behind the grain train.

Posted the below on Facebook, so I'll do the same here. This fix includes the same shape files Jason posted a few posts back...
First, we must emphasize this route was tested on the Stable version of Open Rails using the settings specified in the route manual. If you experience errors, please verify you're using the proper settings. Other settings may work fine, but we cannot provide support for any issues you may run into by doing so. Some users have reported hidden shapes. The draw distances were set incorrectly on several objects, but the only people who will notice is those who didn't set all settings in the Open Rails options to match what was specified in the Mullan manual. The below link fixes these shapes and one locomotive texture error.
https://www.trainsimulations.net/files/MULLAN_PATCH.zip
Fixes:
1. Replacement Shape Files for objects that are invisible for some users due to game settings.
2. Replacement texture for BNSF 5228, which had incorrect locomotive numbers on the rear of the engine.
Only use this fix if you are familiar with basic copy-pasting of files into their proper location. You must be careful to select the ROUTES and TRAINSET folders in this ZIP file and copy-paste them to directly overwrite the folders by the same name in the folder where you installed Mullan Pass to. New purchasers of the route (3/28/20 and onward) will have these fixes already applied.
There is a few SMS files missing in the sound file of Mullan route, Great route, guys, well done,Thanks.
As much as I want this route I can't even get out of my house to get the money so it will be a long wait for me. from what I have seen of screen shots taken I give a standing ovation to the talented over at TS.
Well done on a beautiful route.
Michelle
Looks beautiful & I love the prototype route in general. But with what is going on in the world right now, a bit out of my price range. Maybe if TS has a dad's day sale in June or the world calms down a bit before then, it will see its way into my shopping cart.
Is there a link somewhere with a map or a description of what trackage is covered in this route?
The current exchange rate worldwide and uncertainty is going to hurt sales for this release ( $69.85 AUD ) unless TrainSimulations decide to do a major sale at some point. Hope they do well with it and will buy when the price drops, because I brought Ruel Subdivision Route when it was on sale a while ago and have been quite pleased with the quality of the route.
Is there any real new rolling stock or is it mostly repaints and renumbers? I think we have seen all the BNSF stuff before by the looks of the screenshots on TS site. The exchange rates make the route a little pricey here in Australia. Will wait for a sale I think especially in these current uncertain times.
To the crew at TrainSimulations : Very Good! Very Good! Love the detail on the motive power. The route runs fine. Keep up the good work. I'm not trying to rain on your parade. But since I installed the route some of the textures in other non-TrainSimulations routes don't show up. When I check the ORTS log file it says that the DDS.file is missing. I unchecked the DDS.file box in the options page and no change. These routes previously did not require DDS.files.
You're not supposed to install the new TrainSimulations routes into your existing MSTS route directory, because the installer overwrites XTracks with a custom version which requires .dds texture files. So, to get the tracks to show in your legacy routes again, you'll need to reinstall standard XTracks and overwrite the custom version.Quote:

READ all the information/documentation and warnings from Trainsimulations and even its plastered all over this forum, The CN Ruel route, the new MRL route and the BNSF route ONLY runs in Open Rails.. IT IS NOT intended for MSTS, MSTS is GONE... OLD... and an antique... Like we all stated, if you are running onto MSTS, you will have problems... even with older Streamlines MSTS models and stuff into the newer OR stuff... There are ways and run around fixes for that and have to follow them. Do the search feature, as many members here have specifically told everyone what to do on Open Rails..
The route installed itself to the TrainSimulations Content folder Along With the other two TrainSimulations Routes.not the MSTS folder. Ran Xtracks as you directed and all is fine. Thanks for your help.
Looks good, but including VAT the price is a bit steep for me: 42,31 euro. I'll hold off to - I hope - a future sale.

Mullan Pass Minor Fixes - UPDATED 3/30/20
This route was tested on the Stable version of Open Rails using the settings specified in the route manual. If you experience errors, verify you're using the proper settings. The below update fixes several errors. If you downloaded the patch a few days ago, please do so again because this includes a few new minor fixes (items 3 and 4 below). Only use this fix if you are familiar with basic copy-pasting of files into their proper location. You must be VERY careful to select the ROUTES and TRAINSET folders in this ZIP file and copy-paste them to directly overwrite the folders by the same name in the folder where you installed Mullan Pass to. If you are not comfortable doing this, it is highly recommended you do not attempt it.

Fixes:
1. Replacement Shape Files for objects that are invisible for some users due to game settings.
2. Replacement texture for BNSF 5228, which had incorrect locomotive numbers on the rear of the engine.
3. Fix for signal programming which corrects signal behavior at Carter Street (east end of Helena Yard) and fixes signal behavior in some Monogame versions of Open Rails.
4. Fixes one signal east of East Helena.
New purchasers of the route (3/30/20 and onward) will have these fixes already applied.
Hi everyone,
I bought the Mullan Pass route yesterday. And I noticed something. The MRL SD70ACe 4408 does not look like it looks in the original. I mean the maintenance hatches on the sides of the cabin. They have a forward, oblique bead.
Here is a picture.

And here the original:
http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/sho...spx?id=3981670
It's not in the sim, the engine has the old rectangular flaps.
Should that be so?
It's only a question.
Small details can easily be missed. It's a large product, with a lot of content, and a wide array of variation. We try to develop an enjoyable experience for users, and by no means do we advertise that we produce content that are precise replicas of the real thing. Over the years, I've referred to it as 'respectable facsimiles of the prototype'.
Cheers,

I've heard of "rivet counters" but this is pretty wild! :DQuote:

Do you know the difference from left side and right side? You posted pics from opposite sides. The unit is correct.
Good Morning,
it was not my intention to start a wild discussion here. I just noticed.
And John, sorry I chose the different sites, the result is the same.
And of course it's a great route. Like many others, I have waited a long time for the route. Therefore I would like to express my greatest respect for the work of Sean and Train Simulations.
Gents,
I need a map.
I can't tell what road numbers are in the yards!!

I recently rediscovered my childhood love of MSTS. After playing MSTS for a while, I went searching to see if any of the old payware companies still existed. After some googling I came across TrainSimulations.net and the MRL Muallan Pass route. Yeah, $35 isn't exactly cheap, but it was about the same as what new routes cost circa 2010, so I didn't have qualms about the price.
My last Open Rails install was from 2011 and was version 0.7.0. WOW, they have come a long way. Even though the camera controls take a lot of getting used to, most of the time I feel like I'm playing an upgraded version of MSTS. It's definitely the spiritual successor to the original, and I'm quite happy with it.
However, I have two complaints:
1) When resuming a save game, the next signal does not appear on the track monitor. Signal indications do not being to progress normally until that next signal is passed, then everything goes back to normal. Not sure if this is a setup issue on my end or a quirk of Open Rails.
2) That there isn't more content like this available!! I love the heavy-duty-western-us-mountain-railroading genre and would gladly pay for more routes, but sadly the market for this kind of content seems far too small to see much development.
Fantastic job, guys. My hat is off to you, it's great fun!
Yep quite a lot has changed, have you tried the Monogame version? You can use ReShade with it, another improvement in graphics.
To answer your question, yes that is something that can happen, not sure if it's a bug or that it has been reported and documented. The fix is easy, simply switch from Auto to Manual mode and back to Auto --- Ctrl+M --- this should reset the signals. The manual is a must read.
from the manual:
Open Rails Monogame releases ( they are aligned with the current unstable releases )Quote:
10.3 Control Mode
Control Mode defines what interactions there are between the player and the control system, and the
level of control of the player on signals and switches.
There are two basic modes: Auto Mode and Manual Mode.
Use the <Ctrl+M> key to toggle between these modes.
10.3.1 Auto Mode
In AutoMode the control system sets the train’s path and signals, and the player cannot change the setting
of the switches or request for signals at danger to clear. ... etc.

Have you upgraded your version of Open Rails?
Thank you very much for your comments, they are much appreciated. As for your comment on western US mountain railroading: There is more where that came from. With Mullan out, my next plan is an 90's SP Shasta route. Once the dust has settled a bit more on Mullan's release, I will possibly make a post formally introducing that.
There are a handful of other heavy duty mountain routes in the western US and western Canada that I would also like to do, but I have no idea if they will ever come to fruition, as there is only so much that we (the very small team that TrainSimulations is) can do. :) My hope was something like Mullan would help draw in some new interest in OR, and perhaps spur new creativity in the community on both the engine/rolling stock front and on the new routes front. Perhaps it's still a bit too early to know if it will accomplish any of that.
I could not get that one to work, but I used F7 (train numbers) and got the information that I needed.
thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks for the update, Sean. Any SP route would be a great addition imo, but particularly the Shasta Division!
Does this have a lot of railroad crossings, or is it like other Streamline/Trainsimulation routes, great but can become repetitive?
I don't mean to be harsh. I really like Trainsimulation and own a ton of their products. Its just watching out for crossings tend to keep me aware when I am going uphill at 22mph on Notch 8.
