The acleantrack1 and 2.aces are route specific and need to go in the routes textures folder.
From the looks of things you're missing the textures contained in the surf22_part2of6.zip.

I think the reason that thumbnails were created in the past is because none of the consist editors had a way of showing the equipment on their own.
With TSRE-CE the program is able to show pictures...
Looks like it was hosted here, http://mc5725.proboards62.com but that site doesn't exist any more.
