Anyone know what font UP uses for the number boards on SD9043MACs?
Here is an example for unit number 8123.
This is not "Cityof" font, unless the font used on the number boards is a heavily...
Yes, I did read that topic at Elvas, thanks.
I didn't get broken coupler issues when running my train with 4-4-4 locomotive configuration and after resuming the saved activities.
I'll try again...
This thread is basically about Open Rails not resuming saved activities precisely to the state of the activity immediately prior to saving the activity.
This has nothing to do with whether the...
OK.
I have just resumed an activity with locomotives in a 4-4-4 configuration and with coupler break strength values set to a realistic value of 2.22e6N. No broken coupler issues were seen after...
I forgot to mention that I think the broken couplers seemed to occur when resuming saved activities while climbing the hill. Otherwise there didn't seem to be any broken couplers if running...
I have run a modified consist with the locomotives in a 4-4-4 configuration, and have successfully crossed over the hill at Cajon Pass without getting any broken coupler messages anywhere!
...
Thanks for constructive comment! NOT!
Try Open Rail physics which is more realistic than MSTS physics. Don't mix the two up.
The coupler break values for all of the consist were set at 5.4e7N which, as mentioned before, is technically unrealistic. The realistic values should be much less and should be 2.22e6N.
With the...
Start is from UP West Colton yard, end is literally the end of the line at ~ MP 380. Path is along UP line.
Here is the path file -

Here is the custom activity -

And here is the custom consist -

Running an activity for Cajon Pass V4.2 under Open Rails version 1.4.
Simple activity with just hauling 142 loaded coal cars with 12 locomotives "over the hill". No AI traffic.
While running...
I believe I have found the answer.
After internet searches and after experimentation, it seems that Acoustica (like some other audio editors) save the wav files in a slightly different format....
MSTS is also unable to play back the Acoustica modified external engine sound!
So, Acoustica must save the wav file in some manner that MSTS and OR can't read (properly)?
Here are two wav...
OK.
I have just managed to find the "source" of reference to the missing files, by using TextCrawler (again). I had the "Whole words" checked and "List files with no matches" checked also by...
I used Windows 7 folder search as well as TextCrawler to search for these missing files and for references to these missing files.
Both search programs failed to find these files, and failed to...
According to latest Open Rails v1.4 log, there are two missing sms files -
Warning: Cannot find H:\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\trains\trainset\BNSF_ES44ACs\ car sound file GEVO_FDLeng.sms
...
Editing an engine run 8 wav file to remove or minimize a mid to high frequency whine which is somewhat distracting.
Using Acoustica audio editor, the whine was minimized by using the equalizer....
So, it seems the situation remains the same as before, unfortunately.
This makes (manually) editing the shape files quite difficult as it is not known for certain which parameters have to be...
This post is in relation to a previous post here.
I have come across some locomotives from spupac4400cws.zip file which is available from the File Library here. It appears that the locomotive...
This was a tricky problem to solve!
I have just now figured out what was wrong. The sms file was playing the run 8 wav file at only half its frequency!?
The wave file frequency is 22050 Hz. The...
Thanks for the reminder!
I had forgotten about the Ctrl + M key combination "work around"! I have now written this information down for future reference.
Yes, I've come across this issue before, but forgot about the Ctrl + M key "work around" in the meantime.
Thanks for the reminder!
Another issue has just appeared for Cajon Pass V4.2 and running under Open Rails V1.4.
A saved activity shows a nearby signal near MP 56 as being clear (green) as it should. But on actually...
Running an activity for Cajon Pass V4.2, under Open Rails V1.4.
Signal just a bit past MP 58, is visible from cabview and also visible from outside views. Signal changes from green aspect to red...
