My PC has Windows 8 64bits O.S. and I always install MSTS in a second internal HD, in a directory I named D:\Games\Train Simulator.
All works fine.

I have win8.1, 64bits, as operating system and NVIDIA GTX580 as graphics, and MSTS works fine in the maximum resolution it accepts.
