This update is now officially released, details on Steam
The editor is finally out: left-click on "Train editor" in the main menu to start making a new train from scratch, or right-click to open one of the existing trains. (It's easier to make a new train...
Beta now on Steam
They fall into the night lighting category which I haven't got around to doing yet. That is: gauge and cab lights, passenger interior lights, head/marker/tail lights, signal lamps, lit platforms and...
Thanks Vern! Some of these features get requested quite often. Saving is something I'm going to investigate after the train editor update. Hopefully it'll turn out to be a few days' work only.
You...
One of the old BRR versions can be used for the conversion if I recall correctly how it works. Anyway it'll be a while before I get a chance to work on this BVE support stuff.
The easiest way is to press shift+8 for the "free train view" while in the cab. This view uses the exterior sounds without the interior muffling, but it'll be more shaky because the camera will be...
Yes, I believe so! It's in .rw format isn't it? It needs to be converted into .csv first because I'm reusing the parsing code from the last BRR version which supported .csv only.
Thanks for all the comments and feedback guys! It seems improving the route editor and signalling to enable more realistic routes and traffic is a high priority for the folks here (been receiving...
From what I've gathered reading various forums, the lack of public editors is a significant source of frustration for some Run8 and TSW users. Surely most people wouldn't want me to go down that...
The train editor is the last missing "big" editor to make one of the key aspects of the sim customisable and extensible. Whether the integrated modelling tool becomes popular or not remains to be...

Yes, it'll be added at some point but I'm not sure when. Still working on the train editor; preview video coming this weekend.
Not sure what the difference is? The FK compartment on the first page of this thread has armrests, so it must be a 6-seater while the red BSK one on this page hasn't, so it's 8 seats?
The compartments have a very comfortable atmosphere to them. Just sitting there letting the AI drive while watching the scenery (sparse, for now) and other trains is surprisingly pleasant. Open...

Thanks guys, I've passed on the compliments to Mr. Harper
The exterior model for Class 37 is almost ready! The original model is by Paul Harper.

On Steam you can right-click on the game -> Properties -> Launch options, then type -force-d3d12 in the box. Off Steam you can just make a shortcut to the 64-bit DirectX12 .bat file.
Thanks guys, more variety coming in the next update with the 37: loco-hauled passenger trains up to 90mph and express parcels!
Coupling and buffer animations are definitely in the plans, though probably not very soon. One thing I noticed in some of your pics is the old reflection bug (dark rails). You can fix this by...

Someone did a video on why the new MSFS probably doesn't mean that we get to see a new MSTS.
While I haven't checked the numbers, the reasoning seems sound:...
