There does seem to be a few oddities. I don’t play NorCal too much as I don’t hit it off with the terrain textures but I have also noticed when trains are flighted in the same direction, Otto will...
Yes not sure why that would be changed.
The outstanding issue that’s niggling me a bit is gradients. Seems the only way to set a gradient is to lift the node on each track piece you lay. So not...
Well I probably use Otto 95% of the time but still would be nice to have an eye on the DS screen. I don’t have a second monitor but could use something that slaved it to my iPad which I could keep...
Update…
I posted a summary of the various issues on the Steam forum to which Oskari kindly responded. There is a rough and ready guide to route building on Steam which I’m going to digest later....
Thanks Mike, hopefully a menu to manage the route name and delete unwanted attempts will come.
I'm not too keen on how the fences auto generate with the track and to change the type or turn it off...
I haven't quite got that far!
And yes that mapping/image program seems a bit temperamental, stopped responding to Ctrl-T so I wasn't able to move it to finish plotting the course of the route.

Quite a good session yesterday evening. Got my 6500 ft consist off the Arvin branch, but rather than try and shuffle the cars in the yard at Bakersfield, decided to take the whole lot over to West...
I found that thread on steam which discusses how to get a semi transparent map overlay on the 2D editor view. Crude but in the absence of anything more technical, it will have to do. For a quick...
Certainly looking good. Very much the “sleeper” hit of the train sim scene. Route editor has seen some updates too, only downer is that it still lacks any form of real world data import, be that DEM...
Found this...

Possibly a bit out of date, but a start.
Appreciate the info Mike.
Not sure how I managed to miss the beta. Need to get my head out of Trainz.
3D editing should still be a huge step up from the plan view original and ought to be...
Early days Eric but it does look good.
Really hope it supports real world data as there are a large number of UK secondary and branch lines which were operated by these DMU's which have never seen...
According to a post on their Facebook page, Diesel Railcar Editor is about to get an all new editor, actually landing tomorrow. The quick tech video clip on FB seems to show something more akin to...
:) I have fallow periods but it is too much hassle to keep installing and uninstalling.
@Eric - good to hear things are still ticking over with them. If anyone from R8 is reading this, Soledad...
I come and go with it Mike. Been doing some industry switching which is quite relaxing with a bit of freight car sudoku thrown in!
I would like to see some more vintage locos also some switchers which are really needed for yard work and trip working.
However like it or not, Metrolink seems to be a pretty significant presence...
...or Run 8 seems to have gone very quiet of late.
Haven't been on the game myself for a while and not checked activity at The Depot but it seems rather dead on here.
Obviously we had the 3.7...
If you go back into a saved game and you were driving when you saved, your current train will spawn right next to you. The problem comes if you've wandered off in helicopter or teleport mode to see...
In my case Rich, simply keeping up with the Jones’s as it were, once a reasonable discount became available.
In truth there doesn’t seem much difference from 19 at all, have yet to explore the new...
Ah but in my case the bonus is I get access to the routes I previously bought for TANE (Steam), Murchison and Avery to Drexel, which were not available to my direct digital purchase of ‘19 from N3V.
For the rather more reasonable fee of £31.34 (not sure of the US$) until 29th May, as part of Steam’s train sim event. Quite a saving on the full RRP of £55!
Just one thing to be aware of though…...
Nice one Mike.
Never been that impressed with the "WOS" series, in fact came as a surprise TML Studios still making them. The negative reviews on Steam summed it up and the fact the publisher appears to ban...
Looks like a take on the old 3D Transport Tycoon (Peter Dobrovka's game) crossed with 3D Railroad Master.
Not for me, though the (two) reviews on Steam are positive.
Trainz is largely let down by the age of the traction and rolling stock, much of which is aliased to the ancient default cabs and sounds.
With a bit of work you can get routes looking pretty good...
