LAST EDITED ON Jun-15-02 AT 11:21AM (EDT)[p] Hey all,
We are planning a few field trips and so far they are all in Northern California. We are going to be following the old WP from Sacramento to Portola for atleast a day trip and we are tenatively thinking of making it a weekend excursion. Another railfan idea was to follow the old North Western Pacific up to Eureka.
Lets plan a trip to railfan the Tehachapi, Cajon, Travel Town( or whatever it is called) in L.A.. Lets ride the Reno Fun Train from Jack London Square in Oakland, Ca. to Reno,NV. Go to Fort Bragg and ride the "Skunk Train". Check out the Traction museum in Rio Vista,Ca. Take a drive to the Napa Wine country and ride their train. Ride the train at the 1891 Steamtown in Jamestown.

Come on, it is summer time and the weather is mostly nice.
