To add a screenshot in the body of the post as here:

[Link Expired]

First upload the file as before, using the Attachment box's "Click here to choose your file" link, below.

To paste that uploaded .jpg (or other filetype) in the body of the message, as we did before and as you see here, the COMPLETE url must be pasted...

>[Link Expired]3d1b598c0b8460b7.jpg<

...into the body, NOT just the train-sim assigned filename(in this case 3d1b598c0b8460b7.jpg) which shows up in the attachment box below.

At that point the Train-sim assigned '3d1b598c0b8460b7.jpg' in the attachment box below should be Deleted, else the jpg will appear twice - in both the body AND as an attachment.

Give it a try.

G'day John from another John,

Yesterday that ATTACHMENT part I did not see it there, or maybe could be blind.
This is just a test I did to insert an uploaded jpg picture.

Something is wrong with the files we are uploading, I uploaded a small test file which then showed a jpg and html at bottom of ATTATCHMENT was 3d1b8c2652256d57.jpg,3d1b8c4852635fee.html

1. I copied the first part 3d1b8c2652256d57.jpg into my post.
2. Then added the Url bit [Link Expired]
3. The line then showed without the arrows:- >[Link Expired]3d1b8c2652256d57.jpg<
4. DELETED and cleared the ATTACHMENT box.

RESULTS were a red X box where picture should be. It did not recognise the address.

So I found an old jpg file of mine I uploaded some time ago and it worked perfectly.

Where am I doing wrong, any ideas please.

Hi John from Australia,

The "Attachment" part was not there yesterday; you are not blind!

From your description, it appears that you are indeed attempting this correctly.

The '[Link Expired]' must precede the .jpg description that train-sim assigns (after you upload the file), but ONLY if you want to paste the photo/screenshot into the BODY of your message.

Posting a jpg is now much easier As An Attachment as the software does all the work for you. Descriptive text can surely precede the attachment...

Hope this helps...

p.s. Caps are for emphasis; I enjoyed your framerates database 'poll' of days gone by... is a link to it still available? jr

G'day John,

Thanks for that.
Oh great, not going blind...... YET!.....
I prefer to put pictures in the post rather than at the bottom, will give this another go tomorrow.

> p.s. Caps are for emphasis;

EXCATLY... that's why I use the CAPS for. Not for you, but others who may read this as well. I've been caught far too many times, as quite a few will scan posts far too quick and not read the post for what is saying, or is meant. So reason at times I use caps, for EMPHASIS... :-)

> I enjoyed your framerates database 'poll' of days gone by... is a link to it still available?

Yes it was fun and I learnt heaps from it. I now know exactly what to upgrade to for my next upgrade when MSTS v2.0 shows up.
This frames system worked extremely well for me with upgrades for FltSim 95, 98 and 2000. Reason for doing it in MSTS.

Sorry I cannot get the 3 threads to link here for some reason.
Oh well something else to figure out. Nice to see upgrades, but a new learning curve as well.

Will have to work on the picture bit later, got to go now.
