Default A sad day for Rock & Roll indeed.

The "Ox" is dead, long live the Ox. Yes, Who bassist John Entwistle dead at 57.http://www.msnbc.com/news/773340.asp?pne=msn&cp1=1#BODY One of the most influenital rock musicians of all time has left our realm:-( His influence is widespread in the fact that he used round wound strings on a bass guitar (and now a universal practice). I would have expected the quiet one to be the LAST to go but, it just goes to show random unpredictability of life (and death). I humbly offer my prayers and condolences to his family and bandmates.

I'm a big Who fan, too. I just heard the sad news on the radio here in Germany... Farewell, John, you will not be forgotten!

Sad indeed, among my favorite Who songs is a live version of "My Wife" with John on vocals, great stuff.

It's a great loss that he died:-(. I wonder who can replace him on the tour?

Still reconciling - John Entwistle is incredibly gone.

Apparently Pete Townshend sees it differently. He seems to think a British session player by the name of Pino Palladino is up to the task!http://www.petetownshend.co.uk/diary...=19&zone=diary I guess I shouldn't be too surprised, he apperantly thought that Keith Moon could be replaced too (NOT!). "Ox" made the the bass guitar a legit' lead instrument(from the shadows no less). I'm sorry but, I don't see this as a salvageable situation. Peter, with all due respect, throw in the towell, it's over.
