Default Time to fire up the good old rumour mill.

Now that Rail America has finally "disposed" of Freight Australia...there are several rumours flying around.

    A) Pacific National will take over all of FA's Standard Gauge operations, and "Freight Australia" will remain as a division of PacNat, while the track is "Standardised" around Victoria. Once its complete...FA will be apart of PN.

    B) In actual fact...it isnt PN who purchased them, it was Toll/Patrick...which is PN's holding company. It could well be that Freight Australia will remain around for the fore-seeable future.

    C) (the option im going with) PacNat will completly absorb FA into the system, Standardising the rest of Victoria.

Anyone have any imputs into this? It will be interesting to hear/read.

There are some interesting times ahead on the Australian Rail scene!

    I second that lol! :D

Standardising Victoria! HA! Will never happen, NEVER! Unless Connex decide they should go standard gauge, which I can't see happining. And why would Toll/Patrick spend money on track they dont own? The Vic goverment brought the Victorian rail network back for $2! No kidding!
