Hello, when I was in college, I took a Journalism course, and one of the guidelines was that when you first use an acronym, you should identify it. For instance, if I were writing about the CB&Q, I would state, How about the Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad (CB&Q), to help your audience understand what it is you are writing about.

When I first saw this post, I thought it was something about the Illinois Central Railroad (ICtf) but the first response mentioned California, and I know for a fact the IC never reached or had subsidiaries in California. So please, what is ICTF?

I'm not being overly critical, just trying to understand the conversation.

He can't be talking about the Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF) in Long Beach California. That was finished in 1985!

ICTF is nothing but an intermodal yard a few miles north of the Long Beach harbor.
