Default Steady / Flashing ditch lights

Is there a way that I can set my ditch lights so that when the bell rings (or a manual switch on my part) that my ditch lights can alternate between flashing and steady? The Providence and Worcester Railroad near my house in Rhode Island works that way; the engineer blows the horn, the bell activates and the lights flash, but never totally turn off (I have figured out how to make them transition slower to make them appear to not turn off) but I am stumped on how to alternate the flashing and steady lights. Any help is appreciated.

Unfortunately Matthew the quick answer is no!
Thanks to the really sloppy coding Kuju did for Microsoft!
The good news is that a lot of builders, us included, are using a work around where if you set the lights to DIM the ditch-lights flash and then when you set them to high they go to steady...
So when you approach a grade crossing you would set the lights to dim and then hit the horn, which may or may not depending on the whim of the builder, ring the bell also....

Yeah...those P&W U23B and B23-7's are really quite awesome locomotives! Too bad the U23's have seen better days!! x(

With the lighting...on Facing Point's Surfliner sets, the cab car...

SETTING OFF = Headlight on Dim...no Ditchlights
SETTING DIM = Headlight on bright...ditchlights alternating.
SETTING HIGH= Headlight on bright...ditchlights static.

D'accord, mais ,merci beaucoup pour l'information!

Thanks very much for the information!

I also thank you for your work on this subject. As a lifelong (ok ok 15 years) tennage railfan who is not THAT good at computers, people like you are a god-send (you know what I mean, don't be offended!)

I AM disappointed, though, that Microsoft cancelled MSTS 2.0. Taking a leaf out of Julia Child's book, maybe we aren't screaming loud enough!

    THANKS SO MUCH

Well first I want to say...
    I AM AMAZED!
(That you even know the Providence and Worcester (wuhstuh, as we say it))
And also that you know that the PW U23Bs and B23-7s have been replaced...you don't get Railfan magazine, per chance? (that was an article, and you being so far away...no offense, maybe you lived here!)

Yes...The only U23Bs not past their prime are on my layout!

Thanks for the help with theis subject. I am surprised how helpful people are! I will definately look into that, and maybe ask the author(s) how they do it (hopefully they are as helpful as you two!)

    THANK YOU!
