I installed it but it had a few minor conflicts with my sound card drivers which resulted in BSOD's here and there which drove me insane, so I reformatted my hdd. Other than that and the popup blocker being a nuisance, i found no other problems.

Running fine here with the firewall turned off (this is not my internet machine), but my TS box does nothing else, so may not be representative.

MSTS does not have any trouble with it.

    Cheers

    I am running fine too.

Minor thing I noticed is that most of my older games won't run anymore. YOu may also experience problems with MS Office 2000 or similar versions of Word etc.
    Cheers,
    Sebastian

I've been using it on four systems for a couple of weeks now. Haven't had any problems with any software, in fact some of it's components have actually improved performance. No problems here running Office 2000 applications.

I'm going to follow IBM's internal memos to their users and not download and install the service pack until all the subsequent service packs to fix the current service pack are solid. I also saw a couple articles from some security organizations stating that SP2 opens up yet a few more security holes in XP while fixing existing ones. Googling around seems to indicate that the service pack may be creating more headaches than good things.

Well you know the old saying, "Don't fix it if it ain't broke!" I just hate DL updates when my computer is working fine as it is. I think I will wait just a bit longer. My luck is as soon as I DL something like this something gets buggered up.

    ...still SCARED... :(

If we all did that, we'd all be running DOS 1.0 right now, since we'd still be waiting to see if all these fancy-shmancy updates are solid.

No update is ever 100% solid, just solid ENOUGH. Just make sure you've got a way to back up to your previous config if you don't want to dive in headfirst to the new version--I did notice when I installed SP2 that the ONLY option was the one to back up changed files to allow for a future uninstall. That being said, no problems with it here.
