It is not a part of the Borg.

The route in the file library is the Ft. Smith Subdivision of the former Frisco, which ran from Monett, Missouri to Ft. Smith, Arkansas, some 133 miles.

The Frisco was aquired by the Burlington Northern in mid-1980.

The BN spun off the FS Sub to the shortline Arkansas & Missouri in mid-1986.

Standard freight power during the diesel eras was 4 axle power. 6 powered axles resulted in track difficulties (spreading rails on the tight curves, etc.), so they limited the route to 4 axle power as a general rule. This same approach to power was adhered to during the short BN years.

Today the Arkansas & Missouri uses their all-Alco fleet to power their trains: Alco C420's, T-6's, and one RS-32 (or is it a 36?).

    Jonathan,
The QA&P look great. When am I going to get it?

BTW you don't need to Download the Fort Smith. Larry said he was going to send CDs to the beta testers.
    Later,

Just downloaded the route and started it up and got a whole bunch of missing .ace files, ran route riter and it gave a longer list of missing files. Ran the batch file again and found that several .ace files were not copied into the route folder. Anybody get the same errors? I'd really like to get this excellent route working Thanks.

The A&M standard color is more of a deep, rich bergundy. Nice looking scheme.

Perhaps the article in question had pictures of some of the C-420's before they were painted into the A&M scheme. Could be you saw an oxidized D&H unit, or LV unit?

As for the Frisco colors: Black and yellow from about 1946 until officially changed to orange and white in 1965. Several of the older units wore black and yellow to the end of their service life with the Frisco. By the mid-late 60's, the black units had oxidized to a weathered black/charcoal black. Toward the end of their lives, some of the 1st generation stuff was in pretty sad condition.
