(KNARF -The Weyauwega, Wisconsin freight train deraiment is a good one that I can remember. Several tankers carrying (if I remember) propane derailed and one exploded and some of the others were leaking. No fatalaties but the town was evacuated for 19 days.

Knarf,
What makes this a interesting wreck, Its very hard to find any photos of this wreck!!
The tank cars full of propane was only a mask cover up of the REAL THREAT!!
ON THIS TRAIN WERE 6 BOXCARS THAT CAME FROM USAF BASE OUT OF MINNIESOTA WHICH WERE MARKED CLASSIFIED ON THE MANIFEST.

Within 45 minutes of the time of the derailment, ACTIVE military personnel were on site, long before the Govenor, Tommy Thompson could have dispatched the national guard. Those 6 boxcars were removed and hauled away first. If those tankers were such a unstable violent threat, how did you get clean-up crews in there to pick up half the wreck. 4 days later after the wreck, the national guard showed up.
**question- When is the military ever called to a train derailment???***
At every news press release, when Wisconsin Central represenitives were giving updates, a military public relations officer was always there, watching everything that was said.
