Also it seems that no one has really sanded the locomoitve's tender...ever. Unless the "SOUTHERN PACIFIC LINES" is showing through from the War Baby paint of 2000-2001

Mmmmmmmm I liked that red/white/blue scheme,...it was waaaay better than the BNSF black:) But it's nice to see her in 'daylight' colors...
...I've had an infactiuation with 4449 ever since I was 5,.....when my dad rented a video from the local library, called "Daylight Express" by Skyfire.

VERY cool program, I highly recomend it......esspecially the story on the AFT during a vist to Florida..........don't drop the oranges:)

And........"I'll take a BLT, hold the mayo." If you haven't seen it, you won't get it, lol ;)-Jeffrey

She does look wonderful, and on ther Montana By Steam II trip was looked even better. A bit of triva about the trip, the F45 behind her was formaly owned by Doyle. I was sitting in the crew car with them the first evening they were in town and asked if we could expect a repeat of the AMAZING show of power put on by the SPS 700 as she hit the 2% grades of the NP. "I'm just gonna thrash the hell outta that cowl" is what he said, and they did just that! I was up Evro hill and sure enough Bill Stetler had both the 49 and the F45 wide open doing all of 25mph up the hill. Not a spectacular display of smoke and steam, but showing how the 4449 group gets things done right. At least by modern standards! It was a great trip!
