Would you believe that a K-28 actually has 27,000 or so pounds of tractive effort, even though the numeber in the designation represnets it's tractive effort!

I fooled around with the texture and came up with this. I need to make the "Rio Grande" darker, but other than that, i think the car looks great.

Grizz. Send me a E-Mail. SWEET re-paint of the gon. That will make a excellent first release.

Default Press Release: 1500 Series Gon. progress update.

    Greetings.

For those that are interested in getting their hands on this car, beta 4 is currently in the hands of my testers. In addition, I am about finished with Beta5/Relese Candidate 1. This will probably be going out to testers tonight sometime. At this time, I am not accepting any more testers for this release of this car. I will post another announcement when my next project, a 3000 series boxcar, begins beta testing.

The development of the car has been frozen at RC1. Baring any significant technical problems in testing, this will be the final beta before release. Texturing, though, is still being tweaked.

While I absolutely refuse to set a release date, as I feel that deadlines are only meant to be missed or pushed back in these kinds of situations, I feel that the initial release of this car is getting close. Very close.

I think my style of release is a little different than most other authors so I want to take a moment and talk about it. The initial release should be a good combination at visual quality and detail while still being useable on lower end systems. Some items on the to-do list, such as more detailed couplers and 3D grab irons; will probably not be included in the version 1 release.

As time progresses, and the general power of computers increases, I will continue to update the car with more detail, and subsequently release it as an updated version. In addition, the project may also fork into another version, such as one with damaged and replaced stakes, or loads.

Also, I keep a record of all known problems and changes with each release, along with pictures and historical information on my [a href=”http://coloradocar.webhop.org”]website[/a].
