Default TTX Articulated Spine Cars v1.1 Update

Hi Folks,

I'm leaving a quick note to let you know that a v1.1 update has been released for the TTX articulated spine cars. This update resolves the issue with adding the same car in reverse order as well as a physics update for the empty cars.

The update will be available during the next round of updates on the site.

Thanks,

Brian.

Uhh.... The empty version of these cars have a pretty "funny" bug to it... i hear a POP... followed by the derail cam, and in the distance.. you can see a "dancing" car flying in the air, doing all kinds of neat tricks and stunts :) seems to only be with the empty version of these cars...

LAST EDITED ON Jun-20-02 AT 06:32PM (EDT)[p]The only difference the empties has to the others is in the physhics even the railroads are careful about where they put them because of this. If you want to send a copy of the consist you were using and where will try to see if I help figure out problem. Besides I love to see flying cars.

I tried making a whole train of empties modeled after a real consist I seen in a train movie on rfdtv but as soon I enter the game they all go flying?

I tried this and the minute it comes on they're flying thru the air. When I changed wag to have a fixed connection they were fine this allow cars to be run, but not coupled and uncoupled in Sim. Does anyone else have any ideal what to change or will this fix work for everybody I will still try other things.

Hey Wayne,

I just had a look at the differences between the empties and loaded, and I noticed the line "CouplingHasRigidConnection (1)" is not in the empties. In the loaded cars, it is found here:

Coupling (
Type ( Automatic )
Spring (
Stiffness ( 1e6N/m 4.8e6N/m )
Damping ( 1.3e6N/m 1.3e6N/m )
Break ( 1.6e7N 1.6e7N )
r0 ( 20cm 30cm )
)
CouplingHasRigidConnection (1)
Velocity ( 0.1m/s )
)

Try adding this line, and let me know how it works out.

The empties run fine with that line put in and they don't go flying but they may not be able to be coupled and uncoupled in Sim. What really weird about them flying is there supposed to be just sitting there.
