Thread: Triplex Reprise

    Default Triplex Reprise

I discovered a couple of things that are making this monstrous project a bit easier. One is the points function can be used for all kinds of cool stuff. The second has to do with creating and editing polygons.
This is how things are turning out...

After struggling on several other projects for months, it's been really great to watch this one take shape. It's almost as if you have to struggle with this stuff and than Wham! it starts to sink in.

shame it won't be possible to make the tender slip like they were said to after the tender water was nearly empty.

We can try....One of the things I want to work on is water and fuel limits. If you run out of either you stop!

Don't know if it can be done, though.

    Hi Frank!

It looks like you're making progress by leaps and bounds and are well on the way to making that beastie come alive.

    Thanks for the updates!

It is possible to add an engine section to a tender. Instead of making tender.wag, make tender.eng with an engine section like on steam locomotives, that way you'll get a smoke effect for the rear stack and cylinder cocks on the tender too.

The unit will still function as a tender. I don't think MSTS models the weight of coal and water, so the tender won't get more slippy. Maybe two different versions of the tender, one heavier with max water and coal, and one lighter?

And of course you will have to stop if you run out of either coal or water, MSTS models that.

Hopefully it will actually run when it's finished. It will still make a interesting scenery object, but I'd rather "drive" it.
