Default repainting: Is it possible to use a higher texture resolution?

I was wondering if it is possible possible to use a higher reolution texture in repaints than in the original. Resizing the base .tga files is a trivial matter, but how does this affect the mapping onto the 3d model? What adjustments need to be done, and how do you do it? I would appreciate any feedback.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-15-01 AT 02:50PM (EST)[p]When I released the KTTX cars, I included a 256 x 256 version of the original 512 x 512 textures just in case the car was causing frame rate problems in older computers (which never seemed to be a problem actually) All I did was resize the original tga to 256 x 256, convert it to an .ace and replace the larger .ace file in my folder and it worked fine. No need to remap or anything. I don't see why resizing them to a larger size would be a problem and you would be able to get a better resolution when you repainted everything.
