If Paintshop Photo Pro X3 did all that to your computer surely you should have levelled a serious complaint to Corel. I have PSP 7 and 10 installed and neither of them has altered any aspect of the way my computer runs.
Beer is not a matter of life or death, it is much more serious than that.

I should. I got a website to run, so I am quite busy, so when I get the time.

This is a completely free version, it isn't a time limited trial. There is another version with extra features for about 29.00. I have not tried that one, but the free version is very powerful and does everything I need.
can you provide me a link to any tutorial on how to repaint stock using ImageForge? Please forgive me as my graphic arts skills are a bit delinquent.

    thanx.

Beyond the simple tutorials on skinning, the main thing with ImageForge is to experiment with the drop down brushes and their settings (the ability to set a light sheer (see through) coating is determined by the sliders for each brush). Most of us had to make some pretty bad skins in order to get to a point with acceptable results. One of my early attempts is in the library here, a simulation of a wreck rebuild into a GP18. It was so ugly, several activity designers used it to create a humorous surprise in their activity.
So the short answer is just do it until you learn what works for you.

my question was more of how to convert ace files to bitmap ( or etc.) to repaint, then converting back to ace when finished repainting. I think I figured that out already, but I do have a question about something that I will post on a new topic.

Does anyone offer a service to make custom locomotives and rolling stock to order?
I'd be more then happy to pre-pay (via PayPal for instance) to have NYC F & E units in 'Cigar Band' herald, NYC, PRR, and PC gondolas, 50' & 60' boxcars, coil cars, Flexi-Flo, and multi-level cars...done clean or VERY lightly weathered with the latest couplers, trucks and wheels. Also N5c and 'correct' N7a cabooses...i.e., prototypical markers and roofwalks, see-thru glass, interiors, etc...in all three roads.

I used PSP X3 until a couple years ago when I broke down and paid for PSP10. When I spoke to the folks at Corel and mentioned that I'd been using X3 for a while, they were dumbfounded that I was still using such an ancient version (and this was a couple years ago, remember). They treated me like royalty though for having product loyalty! The point is that it worked with XP for me, but I don't know how it functions with later Windows...

Paul, Did you try your request over at the "Items Wanted" forum? Sometimes folks step right up, other times, it's like you're talking to a wall. If I remember correctly though, there are some multi-level auto racks (the open kind) that were done in PRR (I think there were NYC ones as well, don't recall about PC). Tom Pearce aka BLLW (http://www.bllw.net/), did a nice N5c model, although it's payware. I thought Rick Franzosa did NYC F&E units a while back, might've been lightning stripe tho.

    Default Converting PSP to PSD

Anybody got a FREE way to convert paintshop psp files to photoshop psd files? I have Photoshop and Dick Cowens paint kit for the ALCO PA has psp files in it that I cant convert.

Really do not want to buy a separate piece of software just to make this conversion on a freeware MSTS engine.

    Any ideas?

    kind regards
    Eric

THe owner of that site, Kelley DuFord, will help you with ANY question you have. Not only is he a close friend of mine, but I own many of his custom models. He does painting for a living, and makes good at it. Don't hesitate to ask!
