    Default SP SD45T-2

    Hellow all, I just finished a SD45T-2 in the "Roseville Paint". As far as I know not one has been made for msts so I might up load it if anyone wants it.

    Funny you should do this! Im thinking of whacking one up in HO scale.

    Ive been searching high and low over the net to find out more info. Some people say it was due to registration of the locomotives, they needed to be clearly readable numbers and reporting marks. As the UP/SP merger was only in gray territory, the SP initials were small in the event that it could be changed to UP when the merger happens.

    Another wild theory is that Roseville crew were told to patch them, but instead they refused and painted it in SP. They later got fired. I think there is about 2% of truth in that! The fun of google!!

    I remember that the author of the enclosed photo wrote....
    The new owner decided to save paint.

    Saw one of these in Barstow when the 3751 came in, it was making it's way to Yermo, thats about the only time I've ever seen one though.

    The rumor mill in Roseville is along those lines
