I'm thinking of getting DEMEX and JUMPER from Digital-Rails. What I would like to know is whether these are really as effective tools for MSTS route creation as they claim? Also how easy are they for a relative newcomer to work with?

Yes, they are very effective with route building, and very easy to use.

I agree that Demex and Mosaic are real nice to have, and worth getting.

Read that until you begin to understand it, then open the route editor and have a go. If you do not understand something, there is a wealth of information to be found in this forum using the search function.
