    It looks really good.

Will there ever be a fully sceniced version for download?

I'm sure, there will be sceniced versions! of the Marias Pass. There are several guys working on it. It will only take some time, because the route is long. Maybe, you can encourage the guys to upload their sceniced versions of the route to the Download Station (or anywhere else), posting your demands [link:www.auran.com/trainz/forum/showthread.php?threadid=19829&referrerid=12022|HER E]. (Auran Trainz Forum)

More pics of the route you can find [link:www.geocities.com/pavoyoshi/MP1.html|HERE] and [link:www.geocities.com/Lotharhake/TRAINZ.html|HERE]

    Josef,

Thanks so much. I will look forward to the sceniced versions someday. I can only imagine the amount of scenery work that is involved considering the length of the route.

I would like to help out the gentlemen working on the scenery, but as you may already know, I'm doing the New York City region which includes 4 seperate rail lines in and out of the city so I've got a fair amount of urban scenery to do.

Once I'm done, I'll give them a shout and see if they need some help.

    Thanks again,
    Dave

    Hi

I've tried parts 1 and 2 so far. So far, very impressed!

Up until now I've considered TrainZ to be more of a model
railroad layout builder but not after trying this route.

The route feels longer than MSTS Marias Pass, the grades
do feel better and probably much closer to reality. The trains
actually "feel" like they're running at the indicated speed
    unlike the MSTS indicated speed.

This route also seems to have all the tracks that the HiLine
Timetable shows but MSTS didn't include. Lots of switching
possibilities at Conkelley now for instance.

I get the feeling now that the MSTS Marias Pass route is
compressed horizontally and exagerated vertically after trying
    this route.

Not all is perfect (yet) though. I do feel that MSTS does give
more accurate sound and has more accurate power and braking
control (after the eng and wag files get extensively modified).

I probably will spend more TrainZ time now and will be watching
    for versions with scenery.

    Thanks :-)

I think there is a Marias Pass 3.0 route in the train-sim library that corrects for all of these issues

    Hi

I know about MP 3.0 and have used it almost since it was first
    released.

The thing about "feeling" of speed and distances is a very intangible
thing. I have the feeling (seat of the pants feeling) when running at
almost any speed with MSTS that you are physically moving faster than
the actual indicated speed which is giving the appearance that
    distances between points are compressed.

It may be just the missing scenery in the TrainZ Marias Pass that is
making it "feel" it takes longer to get from point "A" to point "B".

A little running with speed/time/mileage checks should confirm how
accurate my "seat of the pants" feeling is ;-) One day when I have
    some spare time....
