    Default RE: Bve FAQ

After being with MSTrainsim since its inception I thought I would try BVE. Found your info essential but cant understand why all that is not on BVEs own page.

Have followed your instructions for installing but now stuck looking for Common.exe and English.exe. Where are they?

    Hi Chrisilf,

If you go to Steve Greens site www.trainsimcentral.co.uk and click on BVE Help, Steve has created a page, with illustrations on how to download and install BVE v2.6.3 (latest I believe).

This version of BVE doesn't need the Common.exe and English.exe files, they were required on earlier versions of BVE.

    HTH.

Attached is my CSV command document, in an 8.88kb ZIP file containing both .rtf and .txt documents. Some content (as noted in the document) kindly provided by my friend Adam (boliqua2).

The same ZIP file is also available on my server: http://union-atlantic.com/download/csvcommands.zip

I wished I'd had a document like this when I started coding, so I made one for the community. Don't forget, you can feel free to distribute this document and modify it for yourself as you wish. However, please do not send out modified versions of this file. Any notes you make in it that are helpful to you may not neccesarily help others, and in some cases, can further confuse them.

    Enjoy and happy coding!

EDIT: Placed broken link! x( I'd also like to suggest that everyone replying to this message reply to Wulf's original post (message 0) so that the posts do not get narrow off to the right! ;)

    Default RE: Bve FAQ

    Hi all,

I have decided to create a custom highlighter for BVE route files that can be used with ConTEXT - http://www.context.cx/download.html
It is a very small file that can be easily modified - simple just follow the comment sections within the file - for more info about how to use custom highlighters for ConTEXT please see the Help system within the program.
I have split the BVE route commands in four main categories like this:

// Rail and all rail related commands - colour = Navy //
    KeyWords1:
    .Rail
    .RailEnd
    .RailType
    .Accuracy
    .Pitch
    .Curve
    .Turn
    .Adhesion
    .Height

    // Route's rules commands - colour = Teal //
    KeyWords2:
    .Sig
    .Relay
    .Tr
    .Pattern
    .Limit

    // Scenery commands - colour = Maroon //
    KeyWords3:
    .Pole
    .PoleEnd
    .Wall
    .WallEnd
    .Dike
    .DikeEnd
    .Ground
    .Crack
    .FreeObj
    .Back
    .Doppler
    .Fog
    .Marker

// Station and all station related commands - colour = Gray //
    KeyWords4:
    .Sta
    .PreTrain
    .Stop
    .Form
    .Announce

    The results look like this:
