    Default A Digital Day Trip…

…in Hartford offered a couple hundred local building textures. Previous ‘City Blox’ exercises utilized textures that were (ahem) borrowed from a commercial texture site. As the cost of said textures (in my opinion) was prohibited I needed to acquire my own. Not only for (reasonable) project accuracy but for distribution freedom as well.

Below is one of my favorites from the day’s efforts. Now… onto the rest of the project.

    Have a sparkling day,
    Bob

    Thanx Marc,

    Here are a couple others.
Three of which are across the street(s) from the downtown Union Place Station.
They are just test pieces to check textures.

    46 Union Plc…

    450 Church St…

74 Union Plc (work in progress)…

Just for fun, a building demo across the interstate…

I think in many routes, well researched and well made custom buildings are still lacking! Try also to offer these buildings in "groups" so as to reduce the tile count.

    Keep up the good work!
    Cheers,
    Sebastian

    Thanx Ernie, Rick...

    Thanx for the kudos’ Sebastian.

You’re absolutely correct about groups. My previous ‘City Blox’ (as I’ve come to call them) usually come in under 200 poly’s and of course count as one item.

Again, thanx for the interest and have a sparkling weekend.

"well researched and well made custom buildings are still lacking!"

Or how about the fact that after all these years, there's still not a single prototype coaling tower model available.

Nice work on structures. Keep at it!

Teach us oh sensei Bob. We are not worthy. :-) :P

Good work, Bob. I'm trying a object in SketchUp...It's around 700 polys right now...but I've indented the windows and the front.
