Default 1960s L&N Or Close Enough

If I were to pick a freeware route currently available to represent the L&N as it existed in the 1960s (i.e. when the BLW set is), what route would I pick?

The only freeware route avail is the m&m/p&d sub it is modernized for csx but can be backdated to fit the L&N timeframe with very little trouble

Not freeware, but excellent and in period, is Rich Garber's Cumberland route.

Ack, I wish you hadn't done that. I've been trying to ignore that route for a while now and have been generally successful. Based upon my observations of the Ohio Rail route, Mr. Garber's work is very nice---I'm considering the route upgrade he's doing, since it serves as home for several otherwise routeless roads---but I keep balking at the cost of either Canton or Cumberland.

Been readin' too many books where railroad management theories come into play. "What do you mean spend money?" (Besides, I, er, spent it all at the BLW recently.)

What you get with Rich is total quality and a complete experience - backed by Richard Cowen's stock, added to by Gaetan's L&N pack, Marc's Geeps and Deano's L&N reskins - go for it.....

    CSC M&M sub is a former L&N line,so the L&N isn't routeless.

There is one person who is working on the L & N line from Louisville to Cincinnnati. I think that is mstill a good ways from being done. An interim route would be the Monon which the L&N took over.

The L&N did not cover a lot of states and that may leave a lot of train sim users to be lacking in interest.
Rich sure does good work--I am sure you will be pleased.
