    Default Route Texture

    When starting a new route, is there a way to change the default/base texture for the entire thing, without having to paint the entire thing by hand? Like something you can edit in a bin or xml file that tells your route what to use for a base?

    Thanks.

    There are a number of route templates to choose from when you create a new route and there should be one which has the basic terrain texture you are looking for and if not can create your own template.

    Painting the entire thing by hand don't take that long, set the brush size to 500 meters and sweep entire counties in a few minutes.

    If you really want to make your own texture set, recommended reading;

    Main points;

    1. The first terrain texture in the list is the default that will cover all the terrain that isn't otherwise painted;

    The terrain section of the RouteProperties.xml spells out which texturing.bin file is used (it always says ".xml" when it really means .bin or .GeoPcDx or whatever) and when you make your custom texturing.bin just set the first texture to the one you want as default.

    2. The code in the MixMap files is indecipherable to me, but the way it works is the MixMap files use numbers for textures. So if you replace Kuju RailsimulatorUS with Kuju Railsimulator in the RouteProperties.xml file, for example, since coal is number 28 in the railsimulator list, and grass 000 is number 28 in the railsimulatorUS list, every place that was painted with coal will become grass. Best to get the custom texturing.bin made first before you start painting, or use whatever texturing.bin you started with as a template for the custom one.
