Do I see a big boy doubleheader? Has that happened before in real life?

It seems to me I saw pictures or a video of doubleheaders on Wyoming trains. I'm not 100%. Maybe just wishful thinking.

    Default Virginian USA No719

Virginian Railway USA No719 on its way from the Winding Gulf Branch to the Elmore yard with a heavy coal drag. It is a rainy day in 1954, a new Fairbanks-Morse Trainmaster designated to replace the steamers, overlooks the scene in the background.

    with kind regards,
    Simon
