Default In-game screenshots from Open Rails

    Hello,

I originally posted the following screenshots with my press release about Open Rails at https://www.trainsim.com/vbts/showthread.php?t=291326, but I have since removed the images from that thread, as I thought they would be more appropriate here.

    Sincerely,
    Walter Conklin

Does that also work in other routes?

The environmental features illustrated in the above screenshots will work in all routes! These features will be part of a public download of OR released at a later date.

Hello Walter and any other ORTS workers

I am definitely pleased to see there is progress beyond the version 00022 that we were allowed to play with.

I would like to see periodic progress updates on the webpage so we can have an idea what's going on, perhaps monthly. The last update was late December and it didn't really say much.

    THanks, GaryG

    Default Regarding feedback

    Hello Gary,

Thank you for your feedback in which you raise excellent points. I agree with you about the need to provide monthly updates. With this in mind, over the last few months, the Open Rails Team has been looking into various ways to provide updates about the Open Rails project to the train simulator community, and process feedback about the software.

The team did post an update about the program last month at https://www.trainsim.com/vbts/showthread.php?t=289960. Unfortunately, we were not able to post that notice on the Open Rails website.

In addition to announcements posted at the Open Rails website and the Train-Sim and Elvas forums, the team is going to provide updates about the project on our official Wiki which the team has not unveiled as of yet. These venues will provide comprehensive coverage to keep the community informed about Open Rails.

    Sincerely,
    Walter

    Thanks Walter

I missed that thread. The link to the Sky Progress video - excellent progress, also no problem spotting Orion in the pictures in this thread.

With these levels of realism for the 'background', I hope I'm not setting my sights too high with my expectation of how trains will handle ;-)

    Thanks

What will the cost be for Open Rails once it is "finished" and released so to say?
