Route PortOgden&Northern 1a, <kuid2:69871:15658:1> by the infamous Phil Skene, trainsets assorted WIP stuff by the even more infamous - wait, that's me.
DD40, still looks too cartoonish - gonna try weathering and see if that fixes it.
Been working on this C-36 forever, something wrong with the bogies and sounds - now that I'm more familiar with the content manager I'll blow the dust off and take another look.
Fairbanks Morse Trainmaster, been trying to clean this up for quite a while now;
Had to get a drawing to redo all the doors and vents, and I finally gave up trying to sort out where the catwalks and roof mapping began and ended so just made the catwalks yellow.
Good enough for freeware, make a few clones with assorted weathering and send it on. I guess I should try to figure out why the dynamic numbers don't show up, gonna need to learn about those sooner or later. *%#&@$#! cabview hacking is eating up all my spare time.
That's got the least amount of spam in it. Having finally got the cabview I wanted, I started reskinning Alco RS3s;
Went looking for the RSD5 that I tried once before when I was looking for a suitable RS cabview;
Only difference between the RS3 and RSD5 is the trucks? Anyway, I like little road switchers, so I'm making a lot of both.
Took some tinkering to find good spots for the logos and lettering, with all the vents there ain't much uncluttered space.
Also did some playing with the specular lighting in PM2IM, you can open a .im file and "convert" it to change the specular lighting. I originally used zero speculars then use specular dark dark gray to get rid of oversaturation, this time I tried a dark brown specular and that seems to work better.
Also got the teakettles finished, all the bureaucracy for the screenshot thumbnail and description paperwork done, uploaded those last night.
Well, I'd say in that case you'll have to take more PO&N instead of spam, but I don't have any more on tap at the moment so you'll have to settle for Spam and SOO Line. Mike wanted to go down to 2713 today, and since I've been thinking about painting a Pacific anyway I grabbed my camera and took some pics, came back and started skinning.
Dunno the whole story behind this one, it's SOO Line but has Wisconsin Central painted under the cab window, possibly it was leased to the WC at some point in the past.
Next project is the caboose;
Couldn't get a straight side shot with the roof support in the way, but I might be able to tinker with this and get a direct photoskin on the ATSF wooden caboose. This is how Railfans do picnics, stop at Little Ceasers and grab a pizza, head over to the 2713 picnic table.
