Thread: P42 Sounds

    Default P42 Sounds

    Hi all,

This is my first post, and I hope it isn't a burden to someone. Does anyone out there have the freeware P42 soundset from the defunct virtualrailfan.net? Or, for that matter, does anyone have a personal soundset that actually sounds like the P42 engines? I bought the P42 locomotive set off 3dTrainStuff.com, and to be honest they sound more like my mother's minivan than the actual locomotives.... same goes for some of the soundsets on this website.

    Hello Andrew,Wellcome to the forum.
If you imput P42 into the file search you will come up with some very nice sms files.

Virtualrailfan was discontinued awhile ago. You won't be able to download anything from that site anymore I'm afraid.

I'm sure there is good reasons why it has been either shut down, or discontinued...

Matt Florack had some really good P42 sounds, but he never did release them

You're right! Sorry. I tried a couple of downloads, but it took me to a Go Daddy Can't Find Page window.

I'm pretty sure he released them but pulled them later to work on them some more.

    I'm confused, wasn't the virtualrailfan.net site Travis Plowman's?

Yes it was his site but i was a moderator for Virtualrailfan.net. I needed the Bala Scalerail update from his site but it was discontinued when I went to download it.
