Here is a pic of one of the automatics (this particular one was located on Track 1 just west of the bridge over the Normanskill Creek / Watervliet Reservoir) before the new CSXT, Darth Vader/hooded signals were installed.

Yep... those are the babies... Got some shots showing what you took, with CR trains coming at you.. If you intend to keep this RS Selkirk Branch project in the "Darth Vader" (Safetrans) version or the good ol' NYC version? JUst curious.. I'd vote the NYC ones..

    Hi Dave,

For my own sanity and for the time being, the route will be modern - 2005~2006 would probably be the earliest date possible with this version, since that was the approximate time the Railex facility was built, and is the main reason I became interested in the line. If back-dated to Conrail (80s/90s), then I could change the Rotterdam park to Army depot configuration (neat setup, btw), add the D&H diamond at Voorheesville, and also extend the W Shore IT from Rotterdam Jct./Pattersonville. Other than that, and perhaps a few tracks within Selkirk yard, signals, and the color of the trains that run over the line, not much has changed.

Not yet - is that the one south-west of the old diamond?

I'm not sure what you mean by the "Old diamond", but the diner is the one just past the Voorheesville ave. road crossing. It's called "The Voorheesville Diner" You can google it. My Great Grandfather, built the diner and operated it along with my Great Grandmother. My Great Grand Mother lived right next to the tracks for about 40 yrs. She also worked at what she called "The Vpprheesville Depot". I'm pretty sure she meant "The Guilderland Center Industrial Park"

The diamond was where the D&H crossed the NYC at grade in Voorheesville, and was the connection between Delanson and Albany. The diamond has long since been removed, but a connector to the CSX main still exists.

Marc the diner is right next to the Voorheesville Ave crossing. Once and while when working the South Schenectady locals if Selkirk yard was holding us out with other traffic stacked up ahead we'd stop west of the diamond and walk up to the diner to grab some food.
