Thread: Frisco 1630?

  1. #1

    Question Frisco 1630?

I was looking over models of the 1522 and then I wondered, has anyone started/made (or thought about making) a Frisco 1630 model? I would love to see one run on MSTS as she will be running again soon in real life.

Yeah I'm glad Frisco got it. In my opinion she looks even better than 1522! Frisco really knows how to make their steam locomotives look nice!

Beautiful locomotive. The story about the decapods is true that they were supposed to go to Russia. From what I know, not only did Frisco get a few, but so did Western Maryland and Pennsylvania.

I think these are the roads that got the russian iron:

    Erie
    Frisco
    Western Maryland
    NYS&W

Not defently sure, but from my background knowledge on these decapods I think I got it.

As far as I know, the so-called Russian Decapods were all originally built by Baldwin as an order placed by the Russian railroads, some were shipped, others weren't due to the U.S. government placing an embargo against Russia because of the Bolshevick Revolution (I think). The locomotives that remained were sold off to American railroads.

Seaboard Air Line got at least one Russian Decapod as well.

You don't have to make a custom model of 1630, you could reskin w-2-10-0.zip as a start.
