Looks to me if I'm not mistaking that this is part of the next OR release not just because of the multi windows but multi Player?

Yes, we are testing multiplayer in OR, and plan to have it in the incoming release.

In the current implementation of Multiplayer, we have achieved players joining in, trains moving (synchronized) on all players' computers, AI trains, coupling/uncoupling (acting as helpers), dispatching (view only, no control yet), switching, signaling, etc. We have not built in-game communication tools, so have to rely on other software to chat. Also have not stress-tested it, thus not sure how many people can we support, and what is the lower bound of connection speed.

That sounds greater then no multi playing. Have you looked into other than voice over but in game texting contact? Does this or will this have multi crews on one train instead of single crews?

The current structure of OR makes it hard to have in game texting, so no, we do not have that yet. Each player will operate his own train, but can couple to other player's train and become a helper. You can jump to see other players' trains (or AI trains). We tested the idea of jumping and operating other trains, but we decided there are some questions we could not answer yet, so removed it from this release.

Jumping to other trains good enough then jumping to another train and being jacked at the controls

Wow You Guys Rock! Totally Lookin Forward To This Release, we could use teamspeak or any other chatter software for communications similar to what quasi multiplayer events in the past but this time we could actually see our trains.

Wow! Hope there is a map view that can be in a separate window. OR rocks and is the future of train simming imho.
