Default Whihc state has the most seperate routes?

Which state or country (except for totalling all the routes in all 50 states in the USA) has the most routes?

    I count 14 for California.

Illinois has at least 16 released or in work:

LSRC, IC, C&M, Harvard, Kenosha, Goose Island, IRM, Geneva, Racetrack, South Shore, Chicagoland, Illinois Eastern, Illinois Northern, Monon, Chicago Elevated, and Chicago Stations.

    There might be more.

Countries in the EU might outnumber any one state in the US unless you consider their states/provinces as well.

Available? I don't know to be honest.

In reality, Maine has about maybe 10 lines total ranging between SLR, PAR, MMA, NBSR, ME, WW&F, DS etc, though years ago, most were separate, and I would say ranged to about 20-25 lines, between CPRail, CN/GTW, MEC, B&M, BAR, etc.

Maybe I'm confused... Are we talking about physical railroads or routes for MSTS?... I'm just counting routes for MSTS.

And I missed one for Illinois -- PRR West will include Chicago, and there's rumors of the Chillicothe Sub that pop up from time to time.

I'm pretty sure Hawaii has the most routes physically, and in an MSTS stand-point.. lol
