    to fiveofan: yes I did work for MNRR back in the early 80's. I started out in the ticket office, then transfered into towers where I held the first trick at STAM Tower. I am pretty sure the units were M3's built by the Japaneese because they were all over them testing them before being put into service on the New Haven Line. They operated in sets of 3, a cab car at both ends and a power car in the middle. These cars had panographs on them. Check this for me please. It's been a long time and because of my health, I could have mistaken the class of equipment. The M2's were the equipment used that were used at the end of Penn Centrals turnover to the MTA

    Dont worry about it, we all misspeak every once and a while.

    As for the M2 that I am working on, is there any way to silence the Click Clank Clonk sounds that are utterly horrible. I have gone through the SMS file and they contain only sounds of mine. Where can I disable the MSTS default "track" noise, i cant hear anything in my cab over it (and in real life its relatively quiet in the M2's only over turnouts is there clanking).

    Those track noises you hear are not part of the train, but rather sounds as part of the route.

    You need to somehow change the default track sounds in the route to something more suitable.

    I just built a quick SMS file with some "silent" track noises for use with Murjax's new haven line. It will work for the beta testing of these EMU's, and will allow for development of some more prototypical sounds for the route. (anyone who has been on an M-set knows how much the dang things squeal on turnouts in Grand Central)

    One idea I had for the squealing is to add sound points in the GCT terminal area, which is what im thinking of doing. Also would you be able to make some M-1a and M-3s for Hudson and Harlem Service.

    I am having an issue with the ENG file for the M2, it gets up to speed, but when I cut the power, it takes a VERY long time to slow down, i can coast for 20-30 miles which is very unrealistic. Braking is realistic however. I have included the ENG file below:

    Have you used Joe Realmuto's "MSTS Electric Locomotive Tutorial" - found in the file library as "elec_tut.zip" ? I would recommend using the spreadsheets included with that tutorial to setup the power and T.E. parameters in your .ENG file. Joe's spreadsheets include the same calculations done in "FCalc", but go further to help you set up the other performance variables in the .ENG file.

    It may also be worth sending Joe a note directly, as I KNOW he's very familiar with the Metropolitan cars, and he may have a ready-made, perfectly tuned M2 .ENG file for you... He helped me with the .ENG file for my Silverliner II cars, fantastic help, in fact.

    That would be awesome, my sounds are pretty bad because I am cutting them out of videos I made and they are just No...I will look at the elec_tut.zip for the ENG file.

    Running the M2's in game consistently with no errors, right now they are under a very limited beta. I am looking for a few people who meet certain parameters below. (only several will be accepted at the discretion of myself)
    • Have a computer that was produced after 2009 with a dedicated graphics card
    • Have a computer produced before 2006 with a dedicated graphics card
    • Have a computer produced before 2006 with integrated graphics

    This is just to gauge performance, i would ask that you contact me via personal message if you are interested.
