So it begins
Early WIP
Took a freebie SD45, worked it up to remove all the old Conrail logos and letters to a blank empty desaturated texture again! Nothing like reverse engineering paint jobs! Then started repainting it back to Conrail.. I need my layers and layer masks man!!
What it originally looked like in the rear, what I'm working up in the front.. 4096x4096 texures for absolutely no reason at all except I can because the stupid ACE format is no longer holding the man down!

4096X4096? Geez, and I thought 2048x2048 was big!

Yeah.. Completely and utterly unnecessary but the other sim I used exported out to a proprietary (via a Photoshop extension) file format which was limited to 2048x2048. So to be able to upscale to 4096x4096 is a nice option if I ever need it to squeeze extra fine detail out.. Textures this size are common place in Flight Simming with some of the new highly detailed, high poly models.

I'm about done with this.. Some LOD issues to tinker with but I'm happy..

Probably not. I really don't feel like chasing down repaint policies and applying for permissions. If I was, I'd repaint a payware locomotive so the developer can get something in return. Since unlike where I came from (with a few notable exceptions like Great Northerner and Dick Cowen) the developers with Trainz seem to give an equal amount away for free and not try to fleece every last penny from your wallet.
