Default Branko poljarić - aka "Barney".

Just picked up on some very sad news at the official Trainz site.

Branko Špoljarić - aka "Barney" passed away recently. Many of the old hands will remember Barney from the early 2000's when the train sim hobby was getting on its feet. Although his interest was primarily in Trainz, like me he had a passion for all the train sims and for a while I co-hosted a forum based at his Crotrainz site. He was a larger than life character and his love of the "Krokodil" type electric locomotive type was legendary.

I feel very sad this morning but also privileged to have known such a great person. Rest in peace, old friend.

That is most upsetting to learn.
I hadn't heard from or of him for several years.
Like you, I also knew "Barney" from way back, not only with his Trainz involvement but also BVE. We often corresponded via email and through the Trainz forum.

Thanks for letting us know, Vern.

It was a great shame when you told me the news Vern, those were the days when train simming was in its infancy and Barney was one of a small group of us that really did get excited over the very basic train sims that were around in those days.
How times have changed(and I still have not found the perfect train simulator yet).

    Rest In Peace Barney

This is most upsetting. Barry's site was one that I frequented regularly prior and just after the release of MSTS, and one of the reasons I got into train simming in the first place.

My sincere condolences to Barry's friends and family.
