I can understand the annoyance of everyone here - sometimes i find it hard work to understand what someone is getting at. If a post has so little information that i have to guess what the problem might be then i don't offer an answer.
The short text message-like abbreviations are fine in a text meesage, in order to cut down on the message size or cost. But if someone is trying to describe and/or cure a technical problem in a forum where they are not charged by the number of characters, then to me it is indicative of someone who wants to take shortcuts - and in MSTS as we all know, that doesn't work - Therefore i keep quiet. I will stop short of saying that it is rude and disrepectful, but it is certainly lazy and a is sign that the person will not follow advice or instructions - thus turning what should be a simple help topic into a saga.
I do not have time to waste on people who can't listen. However, i have also offered help and advice to people in Spanish, French and Portuguese here, after some very poorly written first requests due to not having English as a first language (via private messages so as not to annoy everyone) - this can take a huge amount of time what with different terminology etc. but it's very rewarding when you know that you have helped someone out.
My point is, try to take a reasoned judgement as to whether the subject of your help is going to try hard to get it right and be appreciative - the general tone of a message and the use of language can give a general hint as to whether it will turn into a saga.
We must remember that this is a hobby, and if one knows that they are going to get annoyed by answering a particular message (or at least suspects), then why bother? There is a choice.
It all boils down to being a simple matter of courtesy - if it is shown in the first place, then it is more likely that it is worth trying to help that person. If someone can't be bothered to communicate in a clear manner with me, then i can't be bothered to respond - it is that simple.
By the way - thanks BNSF1959, i had always wondered what IIRC meant, i had seen it so many times and wondered.
