Open Rails is amazing - it has revitalized MSTS. Everything about OR fantastic - thanks guys for your great work and not just for keeping MSTS alive but for improving it in ways MS never dreamed of!

No, the creators chose to leave out that feature so that the sim would not be used to create youtube train crash videos.

Is there a quick-release for the brakes after Emergency Brakes have been applied in Open Rails?

You haven't truly enjoyed Open Rails until you run Scale Rail and The Feather River Route from 3dTrains on AUTOPILOT ... what a beautiful, scenic route!!

First, you need to determine which control mode you are in (bring up track monitor by pressing F4). Then, by pressing Ctrl+M, try to switch to auto-mode, and if impossible, to manual. Then, Shift+- should initialize the brakes (IE, completely reset them to release).

    Cheers, Markus

PS: Im not sure on the key combination for the initialize operation. Best to look it up in the help menu (F11) when in game, or in the options before starting the game.

    Trains. Trains? Trains! =)

No, It was a concious decision not to cater for anykind of sensationalism. OpenRails is intended to be simulator for people who serious are about railway operation and few of such people would like to see major accident.

Second point is proper derailments means a fairly good collision detection system, such a sophisticated system is not really required in a train sim, so a lot of programming effort would be required for something the developers believed was not really required.

all particulary the Berninabahn with great scenery, all very high detail routes.
