    Default RWP Files

I just downloaded some locos and rolling stock for RailWorks, but quick question. When I use the Package Manager to install the .rwp files, will the automatically go to the assigned folders? For example, if I put a CSX SD40-2 rwp folder into the PM, and it's assigned to go to the BNSF SD40-2 folder, will it do that automatically or no?

Also, when you use the package manager to extract files from the .rwp's, can you do it with more than one .rwp at a time, or do you have to do it one by one?

    Thanks!

Utilities/Package manager will put the files in the correct place. Yes you can extract more than one file at a time. I have done it many times. A lot of people myself included don't use package manager any more but a program called 7zip for installing RWP files. It ia a lot quicker.

Awesome! Thanks a lot! It'd be a real pain in the neck if you had to do the RWP's one by one. What's the largest number of RWP files you've ever extracted with PM?

It all depends on the size of the .rwp, of course, if it is route scenery items which are smallish in size, anything between say 1mb and 60mb's then it won't take too long, but, if you have a route, or, several very large assets, and you attempt to install them all together and they are say 400mbs in total it might cough a bit and freeze, or, take 10 minutes to install, just be careful as to what you put in all in one go......Good luck.

As mentioned, I use 7zip on the rwps. Simple and a whole lot faster. Now, the utilities manager will inform you of duplicate files. 7zip kind of does as well asking if you want to replace the files with the ones just unzipped. That can lead to issues. You might actually overwrite something that you shouldn't have. (Thus ALWAYS backup your files!). With the utilities manger it'll overwrite the correct files, maybe it's only benefit if you ask me. If you are horrible at file management, then the utilities manger should be used.
