Yeah. I was seeing what I don`t have. Run8 Pack 2 GP-40`s. But the following (Pack 1) I do have.

I had a chance to jump aboard with another MP and relax on the way through Mojave sub. Stand close to tracks squarely facing the rail while pressing F11 (repeatedly) when the engine pilot (stairwell) intersects with your avatar.

Single Player Run for the Canadian fans.

Not really sure. To be honest, I suppose the fact that it is an open but smaller online community where a certain praxis of respect can be cultivated along with a sense of support and mature interaction spiced with good tasteful humour.

An example would be last-night in MP. In the pics, like the first one we were in a bit of a pickle. Operating in anarchy mode, we openly elected one of the members to dispatch. I am glad we did because his experience payed off when three trains met in the same district at once and he double-sawed us through like silk. He dispatched us beautifully and it was nice to be part of the experience in which only Run8 can really shine. Something that SP in the other offers can never reproduce.

Furthermore, I was hard on the dynamics as I came around the corner and almost ran the signal. There are three trains in the pics.

Note: The first pic shows the initial meet at Allard and Bealville in the External Dispatcher screen. Two trains were coming up from Allard and I was descending down from Bealville as indicated at the bottom of the Bealville Block (single orange dot). The following pics help illustrate the rest of the story.

Often times I just drop in and watch. I have much to learn. But we all make mistakes. In may case, RTS members demonstrate tolerance, fairness, forgiveness and above all, patience.

The more miles you run the greater the chance for a live meet. The following Journal entry after this one describes one of the funnest moments I have had so far in Run8.

The following is a series of pics (in two parts) that illustrate a rare occurrence in Run8. I happened to catch up to a fellow engineer in MP mode on the parallel mains from Needles to Barstow. He was running a heavy grain train and I was in a light "sporty" inter-modal.

You can see him up ahead in the first pic as I close with his tail end. We were operating within the speed limits, although it was difficult at times to not get caught up in the moment by exceeding the maximum only momentarily. We were unaware that Admin was up ahead just around the corner . . .

. . .who was also taking pics of the "live" event. This part of the run was down hill which had me on the dynamics.There was a little ebb-and-flow as each train gained and lost ground on each other until I eventually notched up and pulled away. It was alot of fun and a unique experience. A testimony to the unlimited fun in Run8 that is difficult to describe unless you experience it for yourself.

Note: Notice the absence of the engineer in the cab concerning the last pic? It is because I`m outside taking the picture. It makes sense from this additional perspective when you think about why Run8 is a railroad simulator and not a game.

Mojave is a spectacular piece of railroad.The prototypical feel of the train physics alleviates the "eye candy" addiction. If you aren`t running the train consistently, the Alerter will wake you up!
